Hey Fountain, Happy Halloween!  I hope everyone is well and enjoying this beautiful Fall we are having.  Besides the many community events and the approaching holidays, we also have an important election on November 7th, which I’d like to share some information with you that you may find useful.  Many of you have already received your ballot by mail, and if you have, I encourage you to exercise your right to vote!   Voting is facilitated by the El Paso County Clerk and Recorders office, and Fountain works closely with the county to ensure a safe, secure and fair election process.  Here is some additional information you may find helpful:

Register to vote or check your voter status here

Colorado allows you to register to vote through Election Day.

The timeframe when you register, though, may affect the method by which you can vote.

  • If you register to vote online at least 8 days before an election, you will be MAILED a ballot.
  • After the 8th day before an election, you must visit a Voter Service & Polling Center or our office to register and receive a ballot in person.
  • If you register to vote through a voter registration drive, your application must be submitted no later than 22 days before an election.

Ballot information (sample ballot)

Don’t forget to look at both sides of your ballot, to be sure you see all the questions for your consideration and finish your ballot completely.

All other information can be found here:

The City conducts a coordinated election with El Paso County for questions on the ballot that pertain to our jurisdiction, and our elections are non-partisan.  We do have a VSPC (Voter Service Polling Center) at 101 N. Main St. (The Fountain Utility Building, across from Fountain City Hall), where you can come and vote in person, as well as a ballot drop box located just outside the Fountain Police Department.  After you do so, proudly wear the “I voted” sticker that came with your ballot!

I hope again that everyone is registered and makes their voice heard in our community.   Thank you for getting out to vote!
