SUBMIT COMPLETED DOCUMENTS

Please allow two weeks for review and processing. If approved, a letter of approval will be issued via email.

3. Upon receipt of an approval letter, contractor must send the plot plan to the City of Fountain Planning Department (contact information will be listed in the approval letter). The Planning Department will verify the solar contractor’s license to work in Fountain and issue a fee for use tax and plans review.

Contractor will be notified of approval or revision requirements within three business days. 

4. Following plot plan approval and fee remittance, contractor must apply for permit through the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department (PPRBD).

After completion and approval of applications and permits, the contractor may begin work.

INSPECTION

Following solar panel installation, contractor must schedule an inspection with PPRBD.

If the solar panels pass inspection, PPRBD will send Fountain Utilities an email approving the system and installation of meter.

SOLAR METER INSTALLATION

Once Fountain Utilities receives the release from PPRBD, Fountain Utility staff will install the production meter within 5-10 business days.

Upon completion, Fountain Utilities will issue a “Permission to Operate” to the email address provided in the Interconnection Application.
