Prepare for incoming Rainstorm
Fountain, we are expecting a pretty wet week from rain fall. We advise that you have a plan in place in case of an emergency such as flooding. Fountain
doesn’t have its own emergency notification system to alert the community
immediately in the event of an emergency, but instead partners with El Paso
County to advise our community of important information that may be helpful to
them. We strongly encourage that residents sign up for “Peak Alerts,” a
County system that includes Fountain. We will do our best to keep up to date information on our website, Facebook, and X account.
Teams are actively clearing debris, sediment, and obstructions from storm drains, culverts, and inlet grates to ensure optimal water flow. Particular attention is being given to high-risk flood-prone zones and areas with a history of drainage concerns. Crews are inspecting drainage channels and culverts for blockages or damage that could restrict water movement. Any issues found are being addressed promptly to maintain open flow paths for runoff.
Residents are encouraged to report blocked drains or standing water and to avoid driving through flooded roadways.
