The City of Fountain Recreation Department is currently following the El Paso County and State health guidelines regarding COVID-19. Unfortunately, we are unable to see anyone in the office at this time, as we want to prioritize and ensure the safety of all our participants and staff.
As you know, safety recommendations can and will likely change in accordance with the CDC and our state recommendations, so be sure to continue to check in with us! We are still accepting registrations for youth basketball and Unleash Skillz. We ask that you continue to enroll in our programs so when the restrictions are lifted, we can get started quickly and efficiently! We thank you for your patience and understanding while we navigate through these changes.
We are excited to announce that under the newest amended Public Health Order 20-28 (Safer at Home and in the Vast, Great Outdoors), released June 5th, 2020, we will be able to have youth and adult programming once again. We will be offering three youth programs starting in July, which will include youth baseball/ t-ball, youth golf camp, and youth fitness training. For adults we will offer a co-ed softball season starting August 17th, ending on September 25th. Games will be played Mon, Tue, and Thu nights from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm (12 teams max).
Before you sign up for any program please review the following changes that must be made for all youth/ adult programs IAW newest Health Order 20-28 dated June 5, 2020. (Subject to Change)
- Individuals are urged to wear non-medical cloth face coverings that cover the nose and mouth whenever in public as required by Executive Order D 2020 091 Safer at Home and in the Vast, Great Outdoors
- People at risk of severe illness form COVID-19 are urged to stay in their residence at all times except as necessary to seek medical care.
- Individuals who are sick or are experiencing flu-like symptoms should get tested for COVID-19, and must self-isolate until their symptoms cease or until they have a negative test result.
- Activities that are done with 10 or fewer individuals, following Social Distancing Requirements for non-household member are authorized.
- Playgrounds and outdoor sports facilities, such as tennis and pickle ball courts, may be open for use but for no more than 25 people at a time.
- Organized recreational youth or adult league sports may resume activities with no more than 25 players outdoors or 10 indoors.Parents may attend youth sports activities but must remain 6 feet apart from non-household members.
- Spectators are strongly discouraged for adult sports.
- ***The sports league must retain records of who played in case later disease outbreak investigations become necessary.***
- Gathering or events of more than 10 people that are not otherwise authorized:
- Adult and youth sports tournaments that attract crowds or travelers from outside of El Paso county;
- Rodeos, fairs, festivals and parades;
- Receptions for more than 10 people; and
- Car, motorcycle or horse races unless there are no spectators and race personnel maintain 6 feet distancing as much as possible; and
- Sporting event except for recreational sports leagues as authorized in Section I.H.2.c of P.H.O. 20-28 Safer at Home.
10. Using best practice for social distancing game spacing will be a minimum 30 minutes. This time will be used to disinfect area and equipment.Players and parents will be asked to leave the game as play is over so staff can disinfect the area.
11. Restrooms may not be available.

Youth Outdoor Baseball and T-Ball

The City of Fountain Recreation Department is devoted to ensure a positive, fun, and educational program to all ages, no matter the skill level. Throughout the year we offer numerous youth sports including: baseball, softball, tee-ball, soccer, flag football, basketball, and volleyball. We also offer co-ed adult sports for ages 16 and older that include: volleyball, kickball, and softball. Many of our programs start at four years of age and can be played all the way up to 6th grade.
Children’s guardians
are encouraged to register their kids on time to avoid a late registration fees
of $15 and to provide recreations time
to place all kids on a team prior to the coaches meeting. Registration is
open year round for all youth and adult sports to avoid the late registration
fee your child or team must be registered before the “Registration
Deadline”. You can find all deadlines under our programs.
Adult volunteer coaches are needed. As an incentive for adult volunteer coaches, the registration fee will be waived. This is just a simple way to thank you for helping the City of Fountain’s Recreation Program. All coaches will be required to provide information for a confidential background check upon registration.
