Happy New Year 2024

Happy New Year Fountain!  I hope this newsletter finds everyone doing very well and having enjoyed the holidays with family and friends.  It’s going to be an exciting and busy 2024! As we begin the year, I wanted to share with you some big things going on in Fountain, of which everyone can participate!  First, 2024 is the last year of our current City Strategic Plan, and we have been working diligently on accomplishing the Objectives we have laid out and staying focused on our Strategic Priorities.  You can see the City Strategy here:  Strategic Plan 2022 - City of Fountain (fountaincolorado.org).   Simultaneously, we also soon begin this year planning for an update to our strategy, and by year’s end be ready to publish City Strategic Plan 2025-2027!  The city’s strategic planning process is crucial to our ability to ensure we have simple, focused and accountable priorities and action items to accomplish in the coming years and will also help us as we also develop our 2025-2026 City Budget.  We will have several planning sessions where we look forward to your participation and community input, so stay tuned on the city website and Facebook page for updates!

Next, I’m very proud to share about an upcoming Business Education Speaker Series for 2024!  The city Economic Development Department secured six excellent speakers who each have a unique focus on specific matters/activities impacting our business community and economic health in the near future. You can find more information about the Speaker Series here: https://businesseducationspeakers.rsvpify.com.

And lastly, I’d like to welcome again our newest City Council Member, Jennifer Herzberg, as well as congratulate our new Mayor Pro Tem Gordon Rick.  I’m looking forward to working with both of them and the rest of my fellow council members to advance our priorities and support our city’s strategic vision.  I hope you can join us at a city council meeting, either in-person or virtually, or one of our special work sessions, all of which will be announced on our city website and local news.    See you there!
